A quick 2008 retrospection leaves us with the following thoughts .
There has been :1. A considerably increased reduction of noise : neighbor nuisance / even building construction noise seems better controlled .
2. Many citizens seem to have an increased feeling of safety e.g. on the streets .
3. There is a better control of notably mosquito‘s .
4. In 2008 many (?) countries (e.g. Holland) have no problems with global warming ( Winters now come as pleasant periods . Enjoy the cold weather ! (a Godsend for some . . .)
5.Citizens of mixed ages and educational background appear to (be trying to) communicate in a friendly way .
Points 1-5 also (mainly ?) relate to the off-line population (please read relevant text-block directly below!) .

The term "on-line"
is presently a comparatively vague term comprising a large number of conditions and systems , e.g. :Definition of on-line :

When considering the on-line group we are talking about a different story all together when we mean on-line chatters , or web-sites with a 24 hour global coverage with complex texts in many languages ...
(a quick screening of definitions did not specifically distinguish web-sites , let alone specialist websites with 24 hr global coverage) .
Speaking in general terms, the authors believe the "global human on-line mode" (the Internet) -even in it
`s simplest form- is a fundamental factor of group differentiation when considering "happiness" with our world today .For specialists the Internet may be (the last gate to) Heaven .
Of course nothing comes without a price in the opposite (known as the bi-polarity principle) and it is between opposites that we must find our way ...
One aspect of progress is that we do not simply relax after achievements but take them for normal yet there are times when it may be wise to count our blessings (examples of which the Internet with all its miracles - like online spell checkers and translators what have you - is only one ...)
