The Global mind website started as a home page ( mainly containing speeches in Dutch, to various municipalities ).

This home page was originally created in an attempt to share citizen experience in the area of uncontrolled real estate project development by municipalities and large corporations at the cost of the local population.
This is of course a standard procedure in third world or occupied countries. It is simply the right of the strong, the way of nature, evolution if you like.
But when expansion gets out of hand in the end no one benefits. Entire states get destroyed when opposing forces come into being. One example was the destruction of Nazi Germany.
The author was confronted with a comparable situation in his childhood which ultimately resulted in his spending nearly 4 years in concentration camps which got worse and worse. This triggered his interest in early detection of malignant mechanism which could lead to a replication of comparable conditions if not constantly monitored by the forces of democracy.
When directly confronted with the ferocity with which some project developers in co-operation with municipalities can destroy large sections of cities including buildings in which people where actually living merely to secure building contracts giving large profits to a very small group , he believed this was a clear case requiring a study aimed at prevention of malignant replication.
The involvement in politics which this required soon made it clear to him that democracy was in fact a very fragile system requiring constant defence on a global scale.
Being a scientist specialized in human minds and brains with a profound interest in computers, artificial intelligence and the internet the global mind website was developed in the hope of being able to contribute to this process globally and even beyond that.
To contribute to creating an awareness, if only on a minor scale.
The present global mind front page gives an idea of how this project, these ideas, have developed until now.
The emphasis is on questions about the development of autonomous artificial consciousness on the internet. How this could perhaps be influenced to benefit our species and, years from now, perhaps even of creatures elsewhere . . .
For a project like this it is often unavoidable to go rather deeply in matters of some complexity, like Globalization, cultural diffusion, minds and brains, various models of reality, the meaning of words and constructs, the stable state as a universal mechanisms of order, quantum physics etceteras. This we have tried to do with BOOKMARKED essays of various levels of complexity.
This introduction may be continued and modified as our website develops further. For optimal understanding of the purpose of this website please read main article first.
Then please follow the links as they appear in the main article.
If you activate and read links directly from the frontpage before having read the main article you may not be able to understand their underlying coherence.
At the very best this would be like reading random pages in a very big book.
The reason why so many links are presented in the FrontPage is that you may usually get back to the text you are reading by going back to the FrontPage and restart from there if you get lost on this website . . .
